"Tears I Cannot Spare"

Lend me your tears, for mine are dry,
Evaporated under a weary sky.
I've wept for souls I’ve never known,
For silent cries the world won't own.

My heart, a lantern in the dark,
Burns with every sorrow’s spark.
Each pain, a bell that rings in me,
Echoing through my empathy.

They call me mad for feeling deep,
For losing rest, for losing sleep.
But is it madness to be kind?
To give a voice to those maligned?

I walk with pockets full of grace,
Yet none of gold to give a face
To every plea, to every sigh,
That asks for help or wonders why.

God, grant me strength—no, more than that—
A softer spine, a wiser hat.
To bear the weight and still remain,
A friend to joy, a balm to pain.

Let not this love become my chains,
Nor drown me in another's rains.
But teach me when to stand, and when
To offer hands, then walk again.

For hearts like mine, both rich and torn,
Are not a curse—we're compassion born.
And though I break, I do not fall—
This aching soul still hears the call.

So lend me tears when mine run low,
Together, we will let love flow.
And in that flood, we just might find
A gentler world, braver, more kind.
